Dori Beynon Obituary
Dori Anne Donna Beynon, age 58, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019, at her residence, peacefully surrounded by her loved ones after a long courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 26, 2019, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel. Rev. Charles Slater will officiate. Music will be provided by A. J. Sherrill as organist. The family is requested to meet at the chapel by 10:30 a.m. for a family prayer service.
Visitation will be at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. and also prior to the service on Friday at the chapel.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Dori Anne's nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be: Frank Hanson, Blayne Schliesman, David Hanson, Kaleb Artz, Charlie Hanson and C.J. Hanson.
Dori Anne was born on December 7, 1960, to David and Donna (York) Beynon. She was a 1979 graduate of Watertown High School, where she was active in debate. She then attended LATI for business. Dori Anne worked as a waitress at Sunnyside, The Drake, and Leo's Good Food, then at Hy-Vee, where she worked for 10 years. She moved to Sioux Falls in 1997 and worked as a retail set manager for Cross Mark, Inc. until 2001. In 2000 Dori Anne started having health issues, becoming disabled in 2011, and being diagnosed with cancer in May of 2016.
She was president of the NE General Auxiliary, and involved with the Children's Shriner Hospital. Dori Anne enjoyed camping, fishing, dancing and genealogy. She expecially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She spoiled all of her nieces and nephews and also her pets. She was an avid collector of elephants and elephant figurines. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and her final wish was to have Easter at her home, which she did get.
Dori Anne is survived by her fiancé, Burt Seifel of Watertown, SD; her parents, David and Donna Beynon, of Watertown, SD; one brother, Eugene (Sara) Beynon of Watertown, SD; two sisters, Belinda (Frank) Hanson of Watertown, SD and Davina (Harold) Artz of Castlewood, SD, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Angela Schliesman.
The family requests memorials to Codington County Cares or the Shriners Children's Hospital.
