Gene Kluck Obituary
Gene R. Kluck, age 80, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2019 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer.
No services will be held per Gene's wishes. Gene was born on June 14, 1939, in Watertown, SD, to Raymond and Harriet (LaFramboise) Kluck. He attended Watertown High School and graduated in 1957.
He attended USD and graduated with a teaching degree and taught in the Watertown public schools for a few years before he decided to return back to school.
He moved to Kansas for a year prior to attending Kansas State earning a doctorate degree in Veterinarian Medicine in 1970.
Gene returned back to Watertown where he practiced at Dakota Animal Clinic until the time of his death. On May 21, 1997, Gene married Lona Kouf at Brandt, SD. Together they lived worked and played together. Gene is survived by his loving wife, Lona, of Watertown; five children; Jimmie (Scott) Putman, North Pole, Alaska, Jacquie (Brian) Stoltenburg, Watertown, SD, Jennifer (Russell) Olson, Wentworth, SD, Jon, Vermillion, SD, Julie (Andrew) Friessen, Riverside, IA. Two step children, Wendy (Dan) Namken, Watertown, SD and Jason (Becky) Mann, Rapid City, SD. Two sisters, Jan (Jack) Snow of Ft. Collins, CO, and Pam (Corky) Rice of Bellevue, NE. His in-laws Roger and Lois Kouf, Watertown, SD and one brother-in-law, Monte (Yolanda) Kouf, Watertown, SD. Gene is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Harriet along with his brother Doug.
