What To Do
Jim C. Hahn, age 82, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2019, at his residence. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2019, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel. Rev. Steve Anderson will officiate. The family is requested to meet at the chapel by 10:00 a.m. for a family prayer service.
Visitation will be at the chapel on Friday from 5-7 p.m. and also prior to the service on Saturday at the chapel.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Jim was born on July 19, 1937, in Doland, SD, to Charles and Margaret (Reich) Hahn. After graduating from Doland High School in 1955, Jim entered the U.S. Navy. He returned to Huron after his honorable discharge, where he worked at the airport.
On March 26, 1959, Jim was united in marriage to Ardella Rasmussen in Clark, SD. He then attended the School of Mines and Tech in Rapid City, SD, where he graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering. The couple lived in Lake Jackson, TX, Pueblo, CO, Sioux Falls, SD, and Mankato, MN before moving to Watertown, where he started Dakota Finishing in 1987. They sold the business and retired in 1996. Jim and Ardella had made their home on Lake Kampeska since 1987. Jim was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church and also a member of the Elks. He enjoyed golfing and also traveling with Ardella.
Jim is survived by his children: Stephanie Pappone of Watertown, SD, Christine Hahn of New York City, NY and Steven (Jamie) Hahn of Watertown, SD; two grandchildren, Joshua Hauck of Aberdeen, SD and Nathanael (Amira) Anderson of Harrisburg, SD; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Joan Kauth of Clive, IA.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ardella, who passed away in 2016; his parents; his son-in-law, Morry Pappone; and one brother, Jerry.
