Joanna Sangl Obituary
Funeral services for Joanna L. (Mrs. Randy) Sangl, age 56, of Watertown, SD will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church in Watertown.
Rev. Stephen Lauricella will officiate.
Music will be provided by Marcia Jelsma, organist, and Duane and Char Peterson, vocalists.
Joanna passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the hospital in Watertown.
Burial will be in South Elrod Cemetery, rural Clark, SD.
Pallbearers will be:
Terry Sangl, Rob Sangl, Mark Maynard, John Maynard, Marlin Maynard, and Steve Maas.
Visitation will be at Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Friday from 4-7p.m. and will continue at the church on Saturday prior to the services.
Joanna was born on May 17, 1955 in Watertown, SD to Ralph and Elaine (Hansen) Maynard.
She graduated from Clark High School in 1973.
She then attended Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD.
She married Randy Sangl on January 5, 1980, in Naples, SD.
The couple resided in Watertown where Joanna stayed home and raised their son, John.
Joanna was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
She was also a member of the Sweet Adeline's.
She loved music and enjoyed playing piano and organ. She also enjoyed cooking and being a mother. Joanna's faith and family were the most important things in her life.
She was always there for her family.
Joanna was always the winner in any Trivia Pursuit game they played.
She is survived by her husband, Randy; one son, John Sangl; and her mother, Elaine Maynard all of Watertown;
her in-laws, Robert and Virginia Sangl of Dunnell, MN; one brother, Joel Maynard of Minnetonka, MN; and five sisters:
Mary Maynard (Phill Erwin) of St. Louis Park, MN, Carol (Richard) Fuller of Clark, SD, Kristi Maynard (Tim Olderr) of Honolulu, HI, Jeanette (Gregg) Nelson of St. Paul, MN, and Sharon (O.B.) Ray of Antelope, CA.
Joanna was preceded in death by her father.
