John Cunningham Obituary
John H. Cunningham, age 78, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019, at the hospital in Watertown.
A visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Saturday, April 20, 2019, from 12-2 p.m. with a Scripture Wake Service at 2 p.m.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown.
Honorary urn bearers will be all of John's friends along with his motorcycle and coffee buddies.
Active urn bearer will be William "Bill" Cunningham.
John was born on April 8, 1941, in Watertown, SD, to Francis and Ruth (Harrison) Cunningham.
He attended Watertown High School and began working for various businesses to include: Active Filling Station, Ford Dealership and Arts Camera Supply.
He later found his love of driving bus.
John drove bus for the Watertown School System for many years and also mowed school yards until his retirement.
John loved kids and the kids absolutely adored him.
John was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Watertown.
He enjoyed riding motorcycle, duck and goose hunting, fishing, and drinking coffee with his buddies.
John is survived by his wife, Dianne of Watertown; one brother, William "Bill" (Darlene) Cunningham of South Shore, SD; two sisters, Mary Cunningham of Sioux Falls, SD, and Dorothy (Gayle) Small of Watertown, SD; and several cousins, nephews and nieces.
John was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Dustin Lee Cunningham.
