Joyce R. Moen, age 81, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the Estelline Care Center in Estelline, SD.
She was the widow of Marvin Moen. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Watertown. Father Michael Wensing will be the celebrant. Music will be by Jane Rokusek as the organist with Blaine Martian as the song leader.
Visitation will take place on Monday, March 25, 2019, from 5-7 p.m. at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel, Watertown.
Burial will be at the St. Mary's Cemetery in Watertown.
Honorary pallbearers are Joyce's Grandsons: Adam Ching, Aaron Lund, Kyle McElhany, Keith McElhany, Brett Shriver and Brock Shriver.
Active pallbearers will be Joyce's Granddaughters: Jeni Burckhardt, Denise Hall, Natalie Carriveau, Nicole Johnson, Katelyn Squire and Brooke Shriver.
Joyce was born on May 11, 1937, in Watertown, SD, to Albert and Margaret (Mack) Lantgen. She attended Estelline School.
On December 28, 1955, Joyce married Marvin Moen in Estelline, SD.
The couple made their home in Watertown where Joyce worked many years at Herbergers in retail clothing sales and Dorothy's Boutique in downtown Watertown. Joyce worked at Lincoln Elementary for the last 20 years and was known as "Grandma" to all at the school.
Joyce was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking and reading.
Joyce also enjoyed cleaning and was very particular about it.
Her special times were spent traveling and sharing time with her children and grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by her children: Vicky (Doug) Ching of Estelline, SD, Cindy (Steve) Lund of Windsor, CO, Patty (Mike) McElhany of Chandler, AZ, and Julie (Rick) Shriver of Stevenson Ranch, CA; one brother, Ray (Peg) Lantgen of Watertown, SD; two sisters, Audrey (LeRoy) LaQua of Scottsdale, AZ, and Elaine Kramer of Lowell, AK; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one brother Harold.
