Kay A. Webb, age 70, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at a hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Rev. Janet Miller will officiate. The family is requested to meet by 9:30 at the chapel on Saturday for a prayer service.
Visitation will be at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel on Friday from 5-7 p.m. and prior to services on Saturday at the chapel.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown. Active pallbearers will be: Rick Ward, Rocky Ward, Randy Ward, Jon Messerschmidt, Dominick Seidell and Josh Phillips.
Kay was born on August 25, 1947, to Roy and Lois (Reihe) Messerschmidt, in Watertown. She was a 1965 graduate of Watertown High School.
On September 4, 1965, Kay was united in marriage to Bob Webb. They made their home in Watertown. She was employed for most of her adult life at Hubbard Feeds Inc. in Watertown. Kay and Bob enjoyed camping, going to the Black Hills almost every year and also yearly camping trips to Fort Sisseton and Prairie Village. They also enjoyed trips to Mackinac Island, Glacier National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Tetons, Texas and Graceland, to name a few.
After her retirement, Kay did a lot more traveling, to Alaska, New York, Niagara Falls, Washington, D.C., Smoky Mountains, New Orleans and Branson.
She was glad that she would not need the oxygen tube in heaven.
Kay is survived by her brother, Larry Messerschmidt; one nephew, Jon (Jolene) Messerschmidt; one great-nephew, Dale Messerschmidt; and one sister-in-law, Verna Messerschmidt, all of Watertown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents; her brother, Jerry; and her sister-in-law, Pam.
