Lillian Lane Obituary
Lillian C. Lane, age 88, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at the local hospital. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Rev. Janet Miller will officiate. Music will be provided by Marcia Jelsma as organist with Jackie Wettestad as soloist.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel and prior to services at the chapel on Saturday.
Burial will be at Castlewood Cemetery in Castlewood, SD. Honorary pallbearers will be Lillian's great-grandchildren: Brooke Thorson, Evan Thorson, Sean Thorson, Jason Dufek, Zach Dufek, Kyle Olson, Macee Olson, Lyndsey Archer and Katie Archer. Active pallbearers will be: Danny Andrews, Jerry Andrews, Randy Wangen, Tim Larson, Culley Lantgen, Clint Lantgen and Jeff Lantgen.
Lillian was born on March 15, 1929, to Chester and Jeannette (Dekker) Olson, in Waverly, SD. She worked at Star Laundry and then as a meat cutter at Red Owl. She was later employed in the laundry department at Memorial Hospital and then Prairie Lakes Healthcare System, where she worked for many years. Lillian enjoyed camping with her relatives and spending time with her family.
Lillian is survived by her son, Stephen Olson, of Watertown, SD; two grandchildren, Steve (Nancy) Olson, Jr. and Patty (Ryan) Thorson; seven great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one grandson-in-law, Jay (Lee Anne) Dufek, of Castlewood, SD; and one brother, Robert (Ruth) Olson, of Watertown, SD.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Michelle Dufek; her parents; three brothers; and four sisters.
