Mike was born on January 2, 1974, in Watertown, SD, to Randy and Rita (Pekron) Brownlee. On August 22, 1998, Mike married Kristine Niemann at Lake Poinsett. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1992 and went on to work for his Uncle Rick at Brownlee Hayes in Marshall, MN. From 1995 to 1997 Mike attended LATI and earned a degree in Diesel Mechanics. He then began working for the family business at Brownlee Construction in Watertown as a payloader operator.

He worked there until 2008 when his epilepsy forced him to stop driving, but was still continued to help in the construction whenever he could.  He courageously endured two brain surgeries, two implant surgeries and numerous medical procedures. He met it all with a smile. He never lost his sense of humor, even when he was fighting the pain. He had a deep faith in God and he was blessed with a wonderful mother and father-in-law, who provided him with transportation, love and support. When he was able to return to the workforce, he started working for Joe Heuer at Fireside Campers as a mechanic in the summer months. He presently also working as a maintenance man at South Plum Creek Apartments, where he resided.

He was baptized and confirmed at Immaculate Conception Church in Watertown and was currently attending Hope for Life Church in Watertown.  Mike enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, fishing, deer hunting and operating the payloader.  He also enjoyed watching MASH and the Andy Griffith Show.  He was always willing to assist the Mayo Neurological Research Team while going through his Epilepsy treatments.  He loved helping his family and friends with anything they needed and cherished his time spent with his nieces and nephews.

Mike is survived by his wife, Kristine Brownlee of Clear Lake, SD; his parents, Randy and Rita Brownlee of Watertown, SD; his brother, Roy (Carrie) Brownlee of Florence, SD; his sister, Stacy (Devin) Sinner of Watertown, SD; and his nieces and nephews: Kuper, Levi, Katelynd, Lexin, Delion, Emma, Sawyer and Keck  and  several uncles, aunts and cousins.Mike is now in the loving arms of Jesus and his maternal grandparents, Ben and Lyla Pekron, his paternal grandparents, Walter and Yvonne Brownlee and his  “special grandmas”, Betty Sheehan and Dorothy Even.
