Molly Belatti Obituary
Molly V. Belatti, age 90, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at a hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. She was the widow of Eugene O. Belatti. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. The celebrant will be Fr. Michael Wensing. The family is requested to meet at the chapel on Tuesday by 10:00 a.m. for a prayer service.
Visitation will be at the chapel on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. and prior to services at the chapel on Monday.
Burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Watertown. Pallbearers will be: Doug Wolf, Jessie Wolf, Jennifer Hanson, Grant Hanson, Michael Beumer and Rachel Beumer.
Molly was born on November 5, 1926, at Watertown, SD, to L. W. and Hazel (Iverson) Cooke.
On April 23, 1951, Molly married Eugene Belatti at Watertown, SD. She worked as a bookkeeper for various businesses in Watertown.
Molly was a founding member of Holy Name Catholic Church and a member of one of the early business families of Watertown, Cooke Music House, 21 South Broadway, established in 1887.
She was also a member of PEO and a book club in Watertown.
In her spare time, she loved to read, but most of all, enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren.
Molly is survived by her beloved daughter, Laurel (Terry) Beumer, of Browns Valley, MN; one son-in-law, Thomas Wolf, of Watertown; three grandchildren: Michael (Rachel) Beumer, Douglas (Jessie) Wolf and Jennifer (Grant) Hanson; seven great-grandchildren and one more a few weeks away; and two brothers, Jay Cooke of Lakeview, OR, and Walter Cooke of Pocahontas, IA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, on December 28, 1990; one daughter, Linda Wolf; one grandson, Scott Wolf; and one great-granddaughter, Savannah Beumer.
The 8:30 a.m. daily Mass on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at Holy Name Catholic Church will be for Molly.
