Peggy Lantgen Obituary
Peggy J. Lantgen, age 82, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2019, peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown.
Father Michael Wensing will officiate.
Music will be provided by Jane Rokusek as organist with Robbyn Givens as soloist.
The family is requested to meet at the chapel on Tuesday by 1:30 p.m. for a prayer service. Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Monday, April 22, 2019, from 5-7 p.m. and prior to services at the chapel on Tuesday. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Watertown. Pallbearers will be Peggy's grandchildren: Brenn Lantgen, Quinn Lantgen, Stephanie Lantgen, Jay Lantgen, Brant Kannas, Jill Brewster, Andrew Holley and Robbie Moder. Peggy was born on November 29, 1936, in Watertown, SD, to Clifford and Thelma (Miller) Plowman.
She graduated from Watertown High School. On June 26, 1954, Peggy married Ray C. Lantgen in Estelline, SD.
The couple made their home in Watertown where Peggy ran an in-home daycare for many years.
She later worked as a clothing model for many stores in downtown Watertown.
For the last ten years, Peggy and Ray enjoyed their winters vacationing in Texas. She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, the Fireman's Wives Club, and the Watertown Elks.
In her spare time, Peggy enjoyed reading including numerous authors and scriptures, and listening to music, especially the Eagles.
She liked suntanning and playing cards, pinochle, word puzzles, cooking and baking.
Most of all, Peggy loved spending time with her grandchildren and her family. Peggy is survived by her husband, Ray of Watertown; her children: Dennis (Shari) Lantgen of Broomfield, CO, Nancy Moder, Debbie (John) Holley and Rick Lantgen, all of Watertown, SD; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Brian Kannas.
