Raquel was born on August 20, 1972, in Watertown, SD, to Donald and Marjorie (Veen) Heiser. She attended Watertown High School where she obtained her GED.

After school, Raquel attended college at Mt. Marty in Yankton, SD, for psychology. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for various long term care facilities for twenty plus years.

On June 1, 2012, Raquel married Wade Tirrel in Brookings, SD. The couple made their home in White, SD. In 2014, Raquel and her husband started Tirrel Trucking and was not only a co-entrepreneur of the business, but she also called herself the office manager where she helped keep Wade organized. She will be forever remembered for blaring her music whether it be in the truck or in her Jeep Grand Cherokee. Raquel was passionate about many things, which included running and being a track star as a teenager, loved stock car racing, in which this is how she met her husband, and was notorious for always having a word search in her hands. She loved being a hockey mom and supported them in all of their activities. She loved being with her kids and grandchildren and will be greatly missed.
