Seth Lauseng Obituary
Seth M. Lauseng, age 23, of Hartford, SD, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at a hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Fr. Denis Meier will be the celebrant. Music will be provided by Joan Lohrman as organist. The family is requested to meet at the chapel by 1:30 p.m. on Saturday for a family prayer service. Visitation will be at the chapel on Saturday, prior to the service, from 12-2:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Goodwin Cemetery in Goodwin, SD. Honorary pallbearer is Dr. David Auch. Active pallbearers will be: Dave Chell, Ben Jackson, Josh Jackson, John Jackson, Colin Schiefelbein and Nolan Thompson. Seth was born on August 14, 1996, to Dennis Lauseng, Jr and Rachael Jacobson, in Watertown, SD. He was a 2015 graduate of Brandon Valley High School and was currently attending Augustana College in Sioux Falls at the time of his death. Seth has worked some part time jobs with the City of Sioux Falls and the Elmen Center at Augustana College, all while going to college. Seth was a History Education Major and planned on being a history teacher. He enjoyed reading, doing research with his history major, playing old video games and spending time on the family farm. He especially enjoyed spending time with all of his family and friends. Seth left many gifts to others through the Donate Life Program. Seth is survived by his mother, Rachael Jacobson of Hartford, SD; his father, Dennis Lauseng, Jr. of Hartford, SD; his maternal grandparents, Duane "Buck" (Deb) Jacobson of Watertown, SD; and his girlfriend, Olivia Thompson and her family of Sioux Falls, SD. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Suzanne Jacobson; his uncle, Jacob; and his cousin, Tyler. A Memorial Fund has been established at Great Western Bank in Seth's Memory. Donations may be made at any Great Western Bank location.
