Ann Florey Obituary
**PLEASE NOTE DATE OF SERVICE**
Ann Eda Florey, age 77, of Watertown, SD passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021, at Avantara in Lake Norden, SD. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021, from 4-7 p.m., with food and drinks being served at the American Legion in Watertown. In addition, there will be a balloon release at 6:00 p.m. in memory of Ann, led by Rev. Robert Waite.
Ann was born to Orville and Elaine (Drake) DeWall on October 10, 1943, in Watertown, SD. She was baptized and confirmed in the congregational Church and graduated from Watertown High School.
Ann was united in marriage to Darwin “Gerry” Florey in January 1963 in Watertown. From this union there were three children Todd, Jon and Sue. Ann stayed at home and raised her family. Later in life Ann worked at KDLO Radio as a Sales Manager, where she was employed for over 20 years. After retiring, Ann worked part-time at the 212 Casino.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Ann enjoyed spending time with her family, and Max, her constant loyal companion, who was the light of her life. She loved socializing and being with “the early, older, crowd!!” at the Prop. A special mention to her three best friends Diane Koosman, Audrey Sweet and Judy DeWall
Ann is survived by her children: Todd (Deb) Florey of Watertown, Jon (Aaron Atencio) Florey of Golden, CO, and Sue (Steve) Lowrie of Evergreen, CO; five grandchildren: Aubree (Spencer) Koehn, Aspen Florey, Ryan (Morgan) Zeeb, Allie (Alex) Takacs, and Ashley (Brian) Glowiak; six great-grandchildren: Leo, Mia, Millie, Siena, Bear, and Peyla; two brothers: Jon (Judy) DeWall, and Ken (Laurie) DeWall, both of Watertown.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the Watertown Humane Society in her honor.
