Betty J. Schnackenberg, age 89, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2020, at the Estelline Care Center.
Betty "BJ" Schnackenberg was born February 27, 1931, to Arthur and Alice (Zadow) Grube, in Bellingham, MN. They moved to Watertown, SD where she attended school and graduated from WHS in 1949.
She met and married the love of her life Eddy E. Schnackenberg. They had 4 children together, Nancy "NJ" Schnackenberg, Manhattan, KS, Jefre (Rose) Schnackenberg Sr., Watertown, SD, Guy Schnackenberg, San Gabriel, CA, and Penny Schnackenberg, San Francisco, CA. Also 2 grandchildren, Jeff Schnackenberg Jr of Watertown and Ashley (Philip)McClung, Austin, TX and a great-grandchild Jacob Schnackenberg of Watertown.
Betty was secretary/accountant for her husband's construction company until his retirement in 1985. She also worked part-time at Spies grocery and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eddy, her sisters, Marie Petersen and Rita Beasley, son-in-law Michael O'Toole and granddaughter Jamaica Christensen.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
