Carl McCluney

Carl was born on Jan 30, 1933 in New Philadelphia, OH to father Roy H. McCluney, and mother Magdalene McCluney, who predeceased him. He grew up in a loving family with 1 sister and 2 brothers. Carl joined the Army, where he served as a Watercraft Engineer, he served his Country proudly until his Honorable Discharge. He then moved into the private industry as a Technical Engineer and has enjoyed his career ever since. Carl married Shirley Beville on May 27, 1960, who predeceased him. They lived in Newport News, VA before settling in Gainesville, FL. They raised their three children; Kelly Perkins, Dawn DeConti & Shannon McCluney. Carl was a driven professional with an unmatched work ethic and a strong penchant for mechanical repair on friends, neighbors and family cars, in his free time. He loved his family and pets with all his heart. Carl lived a long life and never complained. Even in his final weeks he was smiling and making friends laugh. Carl is survived by his three children, and one grandchild, Kelly (Perkins), Dawn (DeConti), Shannon and Samuel. Carl requested to be cremated. The family would like to thank the staff of Moments Hospice for their constant care and attentiveness in his final weeks.
