Cyra Schaefer Obituary
Cyra Rae Schaefer, age 30, of Hayti, SD, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, as a result of an automobile accident. There will be a public visitation at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Hayti, SD, on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 from 4-7 p.m. Face masks are recommended.
Cyra was born on November 30, 1990, to Kevin and Rhonda (Paso) Schaefer, in Watertown, SD. She was a 2009 graduate from Hamlin High School and a 2011 graduate from LATI Human Services. Cyra interned at several businesses to obtain her degree, her favorites were Beacon Center, Joy Ranch and Bryant Care Center. She worked at Jagers Grocery Store in Hayti before moving to Mobridge, where she lived for several years. Cyra returned to Hayti in the fall of 2020 and was currently working at Target.
Cyra was a very kind and compassionate lady, and stood up for herself in every way. She had a zest for life and a great love for her family and friends. She loved animals, plants, books and video games.
Cyra is survived by her father, Kevin Schaefer of Hayti, SD; her mother, Rhonda Paso of Rockville, IN; one sister, Danielle Schaefer of Hayti, SD; her grandparents, Barry and Dorene Lemme of Lake Norden, SD and Dale and Norma Schaefer of Hayti, SD; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, and her kitty, Roo.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials in honor of Cyra.
