Dale Phipps

Dale Eugene Phipps, age 75, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.  Private family services will be held.

Dale was born on September 5, 1946, in Watertown, SD, to Harold and Ethel (Pratt) Phipps.  He attended school in Watertown and graduated from Watertown High School in 1964.  Following graduation, Dale enlisted in the US Navy. 

Dale was united in marriage to Donna. To this union a son, Kevin Eugene was born. Sadly, Kevin passed away at birth.  On August 3, 2015, Dale married the love of his life, Julie.  Unfortunately, she passed away 10 days later.  Together they shared many fur babies.

Dale participated in school plays and was an avid swimmer. He was quick to remind everyone that he swam the width of Lake Kampeska.  Dale enjoyed spending time with his family and his bible study group.  His favorite place was the Wheel Inn, where the staff became his close friends. 

Dale is survived by his brother, Donald (Carol) Phipps; sister, Diann (Danny) Walsh; brother-in-law, Steve Raml; and several nieces and nephews.

Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Julie; infant son, Kevin; parents, Harold and Ehtel Phipps; and sister, Dea Raml.
