Dennis' Celebration of Life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2020, at the Country Road Barn in Watertown, SD. Rev. Bob Waite will officiate. Music will be provided by Buck Crouse as soloist.
Den nis Charles Tilly was born on May 7, 1956, in Watertown, SD, to Glenn and Millicent (Billington) Tilly. He died on February 13, 2020, in Denver, CO after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer.
He graduated from Watertown High School in 1974 and was a standout basketball player. He continued to play at Black Hills State College in Spearfish.
Dennis worked in the family business of Expressions Gallery and Knit Nook. He was a Certified Picture Framer and taught framing to others around the US and Canada. In the last several years he fulfilled his dream of living in Rapid City and flipping houses.
His passion for conservation of the outdoors was demonstrated through his love of hunting and fishing. Dennis was a vital part of Ducks Unlimited where he held many leadership positions and coordinated numerous events "for the ducks".
"Stretch" was an original member of D. Crouse and Crew and was a local legend at parades famous for his clown kisses and stickers. He helped found Kampeska Days and their fabulous ski shows.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Dennis is survived by his siblings: Dean Tilly of Zimmerman, MN, Diana (Pinky) Berns of Watertown, and David (Teri) Tilly of Zimmerman, MN; his three children, Kathi (Travis) Brandt of Sartell, MN, Devon (Sarah) Tilly of Denver, CO and Danelle (Justin) Sinclair of Fruita, CO; five grandchildren and his extended family of friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Fellow Members of Ducks Unlimited and D. Crouse and Crew.
