The Mass will be Facebook Live?
Dolores Mae Lindner, age 93, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2020, at Jenkins Care Center. She was the widow of Richard Lindner. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Fr. John Lantsberger will be the celebrant. Music will be provided by Danielle Holmquist-Holida as organist with Kathleen Deutsch as cantor. Soloist will be Mark Proulx. The family is requested to meet by 9:30 a.m.at the church. The service will be Facebook Live.
Visitation will be on Wednesday at the church, prior to the service, starting at 10:00 a.m.
Face coverings are encouraged for the visitation and Mass.
Burial will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Kranzburg, SD. Active pallbearers will be Dolores's grandchildren: Tammy Gauger, Rick Willemssen, Michele Heitkamp, Brent Lindner, Scott Binde, Angie Kulla, Eric Schumacher, and Megan Proulx. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren.
Dolores was born on February 3, 1927, to Glen and Carrie (Jacobsen) Miller. She attended school in Goodwin, graduating in 1944. On November 15, 1948, Dolores was united in marriage to Richard "Dick" Lindner in Kranzburg. They farmed in Clear Lake and Goodwin Township, lived in Goodwin and eventually moved to Watertown. She worked at Holy Rosary School as a cook and then in the bakery department at Spies for 24 years, retiring in February 1992.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. She and Dick loved playing cards, dancing and traveling with their friends. Dolores was a devoted wife and mother, and an excellent cook, always wanting to make sure everyone had enough to eat. She was famous for her divinity, donuts, popcorn balls and date cookies. Family gatherings were very important to her. She always loved to have her children and grandchildren come for visits and always had lots of goodies for all. Family was very important to her. She and Dick were married for 64 years when he passed away in July 2012.
Dolores is survived by her children, Judy (Dave) Bartling of Clear Lake, SD, Gail Binde of Watertown, SD, Gary (Karna) Lindner of Clear Lake, SD and Linda (Gary) Schumacher of Watertown, SD; eight grandchildren: Tammy (Burdell) Gauger, Rick (Carrie) Willemssen,
Scott (Kayla) Binde, Angie (Shawn) Kulla, Michele (Tad) Heitkamp, Brent (Erin) Lindner, Eric Schumacher (Jenna McGinnis) and Megan (Mark) Proulx; 18 great-grandchildren; one step-grandson, Ben (Jordan) Bartling; and two step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents; her brother, Clifford Miller; and her great-grandson, Nathaniel Gauger.
