Floyd R. Arneson

Floyd R. Arneson, age 60, of Hayti, SD, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 11, 2023, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown.  Pastor Brian Ricke will officiate.  Music will be provided by Rachelle Cook as pianist.  

Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and prior to services at the chapel on Monday.

Burial will be at Trinity Cemetery in rural Lake Norden. Active pallbearers will be Ben Sharon, Mick Cook, Dean Small, Doug Lobbins, Mark Henderson and Marty Haufschild.

Floyd was born on November 20, 1962, to Ray and Joan (Lee) Arneson. He attended and graduated from Hamlin High School in 1981. He worked at Land O’ Lakes in Lake Norden and Volga for several years. He currently farmed with his brother Tony.  He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Norden.

Floyd enjoyed farming and working with cattle.  He loved hunting and fishing, and looked forward to his trips to the river with his brother.  Spending time with his family during holidays was special to him.

Floyd is survived by his mother, Joan Arneson; one brother, Tony Arneson; two sisters, Carol (Bradley) Olson, Janet Arneson; 7 nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews; and his 3 legged dog Buster.

Floyd is preceded in death by his father, Ray; one great-niece, Alison Marie Ford; grandparents, Raymond and Viola Lee, Clarence Arneson and Pearl Kangas.
