George W. Walker age 63 of Watertown, SD, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at the local hospital.

PRIVATE FAMILY Funeral Services will be Sunday at the Watertown Presbyterian Church with a LIVE STREAM available at 4:00 pm.

Pastor Dick Poppen will officiate. Music will be provided by Marsha Bullis as organist. Visitation will be at the church on Sunday from 1:30 pm-3:30 pm.

The family asks all to abide by the guidelines set out by the CDC and the South Dakota Dept. of Health.

Active pallbearers will be: Carson Hanson, Dean Roe, Joe Frost, Steven Walker, Cody Raml and Jacob Purkapile.

George was born on January 5, 1957, to George and Clara (Waxler) Walker, Sr, in Rochester, PA. He was a 1975 graduate of South Side High School in Hookstown, PA. On July 23, 1976, George was united in marriage to Karen Galicic in Beaver, PA. He then attended Beaver Co. Tech in Monoca, PA. The couple moved to Watertown, where George worked at Benchmark Foam, Esco Mfg. and drove school bus. He also worked at Sherwin Williams, retiring in 2011.

Some of his favorite things he enjoyed to do was coaching his son's baseball team, working on cars, dirt track racing and motocross. His special times were spent with family, watching his grandkids' school programs and sporting events while coaching from the sidelines.

George is survived by his wife, Karen of Watertown, SD; his children: CJ (Duane) Hanson of Watertown, SD, Bill (Lori) Walker of Bismarck, ND, Tracey Purkapile of Brandon, SD, and Arin Walker of Florence, SD; his mother, Clara (Don) Copsy of Ridge Farm, IL; 13 grandchildren: Steven (Lauren), Quintin, Bryce, Cody, Dylan, Merci, Jacob, Riece, Maggie, Carson, Triton, Brinlee, and Draiden; three great-grandchildren, Sophia, Brody and Easton; two brothers, Christy Walker of Williamsport, IN and David (Holly) Walker of Pittsburgh, PA; one sister, Joyce Walker of Estelline, SD; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Sr; his father-in-law, John; his sister-in-law, Diane; and his brother-in-law, John.

In Lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the George Walker Memorial at First Premier Bank.
