James L. “Jim T” Tuttle, Sr., age 59, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at his residence, after a short battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2020, at The Salvation Army in Watertown. Lt. Zac Zumwalt and Capt. Karissa Zumwalt will officiate. Music will be provided by Shawn McCall as soloist. Military honors will be conducted by Codington County Post #17 of the American Legion, Watertown. and the Funeral Honors Team of the U.S. Navy. The service will be live-streamed. A family prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. at The Salvation Army.
Visitation will be at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel on Sunday, July 5, 2020 from 3-5 p.m.
There will be a Memorial Service in Lincoln, NE. at a later date.
Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Mueller, Jr, Bob Mueller and Jim Shaffstall. Active pallbearers are: Ric Lewandowski, Rick Taylor, Jim Packard, Kelly Sauer, Jon Schliesman and Terry Mangelsen.
Jim was born on July 7, 1960, to Raymond and Frances (Bettinger) Tuttle, in Lincoln, NE. Upon graduating from Lincoln Northeast, he entered the U.S. Navy. After leaving the Navy, Jim dedicated his work life to serving others. He always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. For the last several years he lived in Watertown, SD. On September 25, 2009, Jim T. (as he was known) was married to Penni Sieh. Some of Jim’s favorite pastimes were enjoying Husker football, karaoke, backyard fires, and fishing. His most treasured times were spent with his family and making new friends.
Jim is survived by his wife, Penni; his children: James L. Tuttle, Jr, (Ashley) of Robinson, KS, Dwayne (Morgan) Tuttle of Sioux Falls, SD, Ray (Kim) Tuttle of Clark, SD, Melissa (Andrew) Zemlicka of Clark, SD, Heather Sieh of Huron, SD, Rachel (Eric) Dill of Webster, SD, Kristina Sieh of Charlotte, NC, Chris Borns of Watertown, SD, Jessica (Brian) Lindgren of Ft. Worth, TX, Jennie Borns of Watertown, SD, Jackie Borns of South Shore, SD, Michael Borns of Watertown, SD and Tabitha Grady of Jefferson City, MO; 19 and one-half grandchildren; his mother, Frances Tuttle of Lincoln, NE; his brother, David (Teresa) Tuttle of Lincoln, NE; his sister, Sue (Randy) Summit of Champagne, IL; and his mother-in-law, Arlene Aslesen of Florence, SD.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Tuttle; his sister, Norma Jean Tuttle; his father-in-law, Berniel Aslesen; and Laura Borns Tuttle.
