Jona Jean Rohde, age 88, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at Jenkins Living Center in Watertown.
Private family graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 16, 2020, at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown.
Rev. Jen Tyler will officiate.
Service will be Live-Streamed via FaceBook Live and also recorded and uploaded on our YouTube page. Jona was born on March 2, 1932, in Fredonia, ND, to Rudolf and Lydia (Batch) Burkle.
She attended and graduated from the School for the Deaf in Devils Lake, ND, in 1952. On December 26, 1953, Jona married Duane Rohde in Watertown, SD.
They were married for 61 years.
Jona worked a few years at Star Laundry and then 17 years for the Sr. High School Food Service.
She enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing. Jona is survived by three children: Peter (Audrey) Rohde of Watertown, SD, Andy (Diane) Rohde of Peoria, AZ, and Jenna (Kevin) Kannas of Watertown, SD; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Jona was preceded in death by her husband, Duane; her parents; and her siblings.
