Kenneth "Ken" C. Vrondran

Kenneth C. “Ken” Vrondran Sr., age 85, of Bryant, SD, passed away at Prairie Lakes Hospital on Friday, July 23, 2021.  Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Sunday, August 1, 2021, from 2-4 pm.

Ken was born June 20, 1936, in Petosky, MI, the son of William and Louise (Martin) Vrondran.  Ken married Bonnie Bossen Peterson in 1970.

Ken served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was honored to be a member of the Vienna American Legion Post 277.  He enjoyed a lifelong career as a plumber and ventured into his own successful business with Ken’s Plumbing.

Ken enjoyed hunting and fishing with his best friend Ernie.  He gave back to nature by raising pheasants and releasing them back to natural habitat.

Surviving Ken is Bonnie, his wife of 51 years; his daughter, Sherrie (Jeff) Barth of Sioux Falls,  SD;  his son, Kenneth (Casey) Vrondran Jr. of Sioux Falls, SD;  stepsons Jim Peterson of Vienna, SD, and Kelly (Mary Jo) Peterson of Auburn, WA.  Ken enjoyed 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; his brother, Jerry (Julie) Vrondran of East Jordan, MI; sisters-in-law, Dee Ness of Watertown, SD, and Bessie Vrondran of Tampa, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and grandson Kyle.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Lake Norden ambulance volunteers and Dr. Javaid and the staff at Prairie Lakes Hospital for the loving professional care.

Per Ken’s request, there is no funeral service planned.
