Lois Jean Burg, age 84, of Watertown, South Dakota passed away peacefully November 9, 2020.
She was born in Aliceville, Kansas, July 6, 1936, the daughter of Delmar and Genevieve (Donnell) Hildebrand.
Lois graduated from Burlington High School (Burlington, Kansas) in 1954, earned her Associates degree from Minneapolis (MN) Community College, and went on to complete her bachelor's degree from Concordia College (St. Paul, MN) in 1991. Lois is survived by her sister, Charlotte (Ordale) Johnson; children: Frank (Peggy), Greta (Scott), Eric (Brenda), and Hahns (Tammy); daughter-in-law, Sherry; her nine grandchildren: Brian, Katie, Kyle, Kelley, Hannah, Naomi, Regan, Olivia, and Peter; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Karl. Lois was a loving mother and grandmother. An avid skier, Lois was the president of the Minnesota Ski Council.
Lois developed a passion for sailing and was a licensed charter captain, enjoying countless hours on Lake Superior aboard her boat the "Rainbow Chaser."
Most of all, Lois was a loving and present grandmother who could easily be found down on the floor playing dolls, Legos, and board games with her grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on December 1, 2020 at The Bridge Church in Watertown, South Dakota.
