Marge Carpenter

Marjorie “Marge” E. Carpenter, age 100, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021, in Watertown. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 15, 2021, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown.  Pastor Steve Biswell will officiate. The service will be Live-Streamed and Facebook Live via the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel website.

Visitation will be at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Friday one hour prior to the service.

Marge was born on September 13, 1921, in Denver, CO, to Ernest Rahe and Ellen Nevada (Vincent) Everett. She graduated from high school as Valedictorian in 1938.

She and her husband, Ernest J. Carpenter, were married on November 7, 1944 in Gulfport, MS.  After marrying, the couple moved to Coeur d’Alene, ID.  They then moved to California where they raised five children.  She and her husband moved to Milbank, SD in 1986 and bought a dairy farm. Marge loved gardening, canning and visiting her children and grandchildren. Camping and fishing were her favorite activities.

Marge is survived by her three children: Judy, Larry and Lee; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Marge was preceded in death by her two children, Kelly and Gary; her husband; and her parents.

Marjorie Carpenter is now with her beloved Jesus and all who have gone before her.  She lived 100 years and loved everyone she met, and blessed us all with her love.  She was a friend, wife, mother, and servant of the Lord.  She loved her family and lived to give that love to them, and to her precious Lord.
