Marian was united in marriage to Milton Trumm on August 25, 1946 at her family farm home near Thomas, SD. Marian and Milton farmed in the communities of Vienna, Watertown and Hazel, SD.
After retirement they lived in Watertown, SD and later in Eureka, SD. To their union four children were born, a son and three daughters.
They were dedicated to family and loved attending all activities in which the family participated. Marian dedicated her life to sharing her love of music by teaching music in schools and at churches. She taught music to young people from Kindergarten to High School and had a magical way of making music fun for all.
Marian shared her music in many small schools in northeastern South Dakota, ending her career in the Hamlin School District as the band and vocal music instructor for 15 years.
Marian was also very active in her church as a choir director and pianist throughout her life time.
Many lives were touched as she shared her Christian faith through her music to her community. Most importantly she shared her love of music and its importance with her husband and family. She will always be remembered for being able to play any song without sheet music after listening to it just once.
