Ollie Vetter, age 92, recently a resident of Wenatchee, WA, passed away peacefully, at Central Washington Hospital, from complications of pneumonia on March 5, 2019. Ollie was born in Brown's Valley, MN, and was raised in South Dakota. She graduated from the Barton Nursing School in 1946. In 1948, she married Les Vetter, a World War II veteran, she first met as a patient. They were married for 52 years until his death and they raised four children together. She lived in various parts of the country following her husband's career as a DeKalb salesman and manager, while working as a registered nurse herself. She had traveled to 49 of the 50 States before returning with her husband to retire in Milbank, SD. She lived in Wenatchee, at RiverWest Assisted Living, for the last five years. She is survived by her sons: Michael Vetter, and his fiancé, Karen Husar, and Bill Vetter, and his wife, Elaine La Pointe; and, by her daughters: Kathy Gleason, and her husband, George Gleason, and Pat Vetter, and her husband, Marshall Brown. She is also survived by six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and various other relatives, mostly in the mid-west. She was preceded in death by her husband; her sister, Laura Nater; and her brother, Ralph Boyd. Funeral services will be provided by Jones & Jones-Betts, Wenatchee, WA.
On June 8, 2019, her urn will be placed along side her beloved husband in Mount Hope Cemetery in Watertown, SD, at 1:00 p.m. followed by refreshments at 2:00 p.m. at the Wheel Inn to celebrate Ollie's life.
