Ona was an active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church where she held several offices on the church council and the WELCA. She was a board member of Hamlin County Thrivent and also a Red Hat member. Ona enjoyed volunteering at the Bryant Cinema selling tickets. Growing up in Badger, her mother owned the Badger Café where Ona developed both a love for, and amazing skill of baking. She was well known for both her homemade buns and potato salad! In retirement, Ona enjoyed traveling and having coffee with special friends.
