Pamela Spooner

Pamela Kay Spooner, age 75, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her family. Visitation will be held at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Thursday, October 6, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. Memorial services will be held at the Presbyterian Church in Watertown on Friday, October 7, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Dick Poppen will officiate. Music will provided by Marcia Bullis.  The service will be live-streamed via our website.  Lunch will be served following the service.

Burial will be held at a later date.

Pam was born on July 23, 1947, in Watertown, SD, to Frank and Juanita (Langwill) Biedinger. She graduated from Watertown Senior High School. After graduation from high school, Pam attended CLA training at Memorial Hospital.

On October 3, 1965, Pam was united in marriage to Dean Spooner. Together they raised 5 children and numerous foster children.

Pam, along with her husband Dean owned and operated The Village Dry Cleaners. She also worked at Peerless Dry Cleaning for several years. Prior to Pam’s retirement due to health issues, she also worked at Nutting Co, Benchmark Foam and Moffett Industries.

Pam was a creative person who enjoyed teaching people how to make ceramic art in her shop, Tin Roof Ceramics. She also created several oil paintings.

Ever the outdoors woman, Pam was an avid hunter and fisherman. She was active in the local trap and skeet club for many years. Not many could out shoot her (maybe Annie Oakley). Pam enjoyed being out in the boat, tending her flower garden and most of all raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren and  extended family. Pam was known for her welcoming smile and never ending abundance of love for family and friends.

Pam was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Watertown, SD, serving as treasurer for several years.

Grateful to have shared her life is her husband of 57 years, Dean Spooner; her children: Jodi Anderson, Annette (Steve) Sterud, Shane (Shannon) Spooner, Jennie (Chris Cooper) Spooner and Justin (Jennifer) Spooner; her grandchildren: Zachary (Kat) Anderson, Jacob Anderson, Cheyenne Spooner, Lucas Spooner, Shaylea Potter, Sky Potter, Zoe Potter, Emma Potter, River Spooner and Ryder Spooner; great-grandchildren: Audrey Anderson and Shawn Potter; step-grandchildren: Sawyer Sterud and Mathew Sterud; her brother, Brooke (Judy) and their children, Bart (Faith) Biedinger and Frank (Jill) Biedinger; her sisters: Marcia (Rod) Paclik and Sheila Biedinger; brother-in-law, Dale (Donna) Spooner; her cousins: Cheryl (Jeff) Benjamin, Julie (Jay Dee) Locke,  Carol (Tim) Moes; and honorary cousin, Arlene Heberden; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughters: Patricia Ann and Lisa Lynn; and infant son, Jason Dean.
