Richard “Dick” Snover, age 80, of Watertown, SD, passed away on July, 26, 2020, at his residence. Per Dick’s request there will be no service.
The National Cemetery in the Black Hills will be the burial site for Dick and his beloved wife Margaret upon her death.
Richard G. Snover, was born on July 22, 1940, in Aberdeen, SD, to Paul and Dorothy (Gubin) Snover. He attended school in Aberdeen and graduated from Aberdeen High School. After graduating, he enlisted in the US Army until his discharge in 1962.
December 9, 1962 he married Margaret Bakewell in Waubay, SD. The couple resided in Aberdeen before relocating to Watertown, SD. Dick spent his life as a route man for a local dairy before his early retirement at the age of 55. After retirement Dick and Margaret wintered for 20 years in Brownville, TX. He had an outgoing personality, and loved working at County Fair. He enjoyed his grandchildren, children and the elderly. Dick loved everyone and everyone loved Dick.
In his younger years, Dick raced his stock car at the Casino Speedway. He also enjoyed fishing, go kart racing with his children, nieces, and nephews, playing cards and gathering with friends and family.
Dick is survived by his loving wife; Margaret of Watertown, SD; his daughter, Shelly Snover of Redwood Falls, MN; his brother Jim (Marcia) Snover of Bath, SD; his three grandchildren: Corey (Kim) Johnson, Craig Johnson, and Aaron Jordan; two step grandchildren; Becki Jordan and Brian Jordan; and extra special adopted grandson, Nick Noeldner; and four great-grandchildren.
He was proceded in death by his parents; his son, Rodney Snover; and one brother and one sister.
