Tim Henley

Timothy A. Henley, age 59, formerly of Hayti, SD, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2020, at a hospital in Omaha, NE. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2020, at the Hayti Lutheran Church. Rev. Randy Eisenbeisz will officiate. Family is requested to meet at the church on Monday by 12:30 p.m. for a prayer service. Visitation will be prior to the service at the church beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery in Hayti, SD. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Tim's grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be: Terek Henley, Chais Henley, Ron Gill, Rick Henley, Troy Henley, Britt Henley and Tom Olson. Timothy A. Henley, was born on September 24, 1961, to Harold and Janice (Nelson) Henley in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He attended school and graduated from Watertown High School. Upon graduation he worked side by side with his dad at Enercept Energy for a period of time before finding his love for farming. Tim spent the majority of his life working the land and tending to the many animals on the farm. As his parents got older, he ensured they were taken care of until their death. Tim was also known to be a handyman and found work sharing his skills with others. In his spare time, he loved to camp, hunt, fish and watch dirt track racing. Most of all, he loved his late wife Kristi, whom he married in 1989, and to this union four children were born. Tim loved his children and grandchildren. Family was important to him and his most treasured times were spent at family gatherings sharing his stories. The family always thought of him as a story teller and will miss his many stories.

Tim is survived by his four children: Kelsey Henley (Ron Gill) of Omaha, NE, Terek Henley (Taylor Beckam) of Kansas City, MO, Chais Henley and Delaney Henley both of Kansas City, MO; three brothers: Dan (Teresa) Henley of Omaha, NE, Rick Henley (Lorrie Papka) of Rapid City, SD, Troy (Darcy) Henley of Hayti, SD; one sister Kari (Tom) Olson of Jupiter, FL and his beloved dog Lucy. Tim is preceded in death by the love of his life Kristi (Pearson) Henley, parents Harold and Janice Henley and grandparents.
