Tony R. Fischer, age 78, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, in Watertown. A Celebration of Life will be at the Goodwin Area Center on Saturday, June 13, 2020, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Tony was born on October 28, 1941, in rural Codington County, to Joseph and Cecilia (Haan) Fischer. He attended school at Kranzburg, SD. On September 28, 1959, Tony was united in marriage to Gloria Lipelt in Watertown. The couple had four children. He spent his career at Metz Baking Company, retiring from there.
Tony enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing pinochle at the Watertown Senior Center. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Tony is survived by his children: Shannon (Rollin) Lawrence of Hayti, SD, Craig (Sharon) Fischer of Raleigh, NC, Cody Fischer of Watertown, SD, and Mark (Rebecca) Fischer of Chisago City, MN; his grandchildren: Chelsea (John) Gustafson, Stephanie Fischer, Joshua Fischer and Maureena Knock-Fischer; his great-grandchildren: Luca Fischer and Leah Fischer; his sisters: Sister Marion (Helen) Fischer of Watertown, SD and Barbara Hurkes of Cincinnati; and his brother, Don (JoAnne) Fischer of Kranzburg, SD.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria; his parents, Joseph and Cecilia Fischer; his brother, Ralph; and his sisters, Theresa and MaryAnn.
