Vicki Lee Krucker was born April 10, 1952, to George and Vivian Schumacher in Tracy, MN. She lived in Tracy, was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith at Tracy Presbyterian Church.
She moved to Taunton, MN, when she married Lawrence VanHecke. From their union, they had four boys. She was a mother and homemaker until going to Southwestern Technical Institute, Canby Campus. She received her Secretarial Associates Degree in 1989, and was named to the Director’s List. She then worked at the Marshall Courthouse in the Recorder’s Office.
Vicki then married her second husband on March 1, 2003, Jack Krucker. They moved around and enjoyed those adventures together before residing in Watertown, SD. Vicki worked at the Watertown Police Department until her retirement in 2019.
Upon retirement, she was ready to take on a big project. She bought a fixer- upper home in Summit, SD. She and her special friend, Jim Thurman worked on her house. She was in the process of painting, redoing the trim, refacing the cabinets. She loved her Victorian style, and her home was filled with angels, roses, and lace.
Vicki loved playing the piano, gardening, and taking on house projects. She loved animals and really enjoyed her cat, Panda. She played organ for her church, Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Watertown. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed singing karaoke, camping, and spending time outdoors.
On Sunday, January 16, 2022, Vicki passed away peacefully in her home.
Vicki is survived by her four sons: David VanHecke, Glen (Laura) VanHecke, Michael (Renee) VanHecke, and Gregory (Trista) VanHecke; her brother, Eugene Schumacher; her sister, Janet Swimm; her special friend, Jim Thurman; her 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Vivian; her husband, Jack Krucker; and her nephew, Brian Schumacher.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 24, 2022, at Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Watertown. Pastor Steve Anderson will officiate.
Visitation will be at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Sunday from 1-3 p.m.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown. Honorary Urnbearers will be her grandchildren Andrew, Gavin, Sawyer, Everett, Gus, Marisa, Melanie, Rylan, Liam, and Jace VanHecke.
