Virginia B. Anderson, age 89, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at her residence. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Watertown. Rev. Steve Anderson will officiate. Music will be provided by Daniel Tsukamoto as organist with Jackie Wettestad as soloist. The family is requested to meet at the church on Tuesday by 10:30 for a prayer service. Face coverings are highly recommended. The funeral service will be Live Streamed on our website and Facebook Live. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday prior to the service. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Virginia B. Anderson was born on February 18, 1931, in Omaha, NE to Angelo and Elizabeth Pappas. She was a graduate of the University of Omaha. She was united in marriage to Donald C. Anderson on September 29, 1956 in Omaha. They were married for 57 years. In 1971 the couple moved to Watertown, SD where Virginia worked for Austin and Hinderaker Law Firm as an administrative legal secretary for many years. Virginia was a lifelong member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church. She loved the Lord and demonstrated her faith by starting the Food Pantry at Cornerstone, where she volunteered until just recently. Virginia taught herself how to knit and enjoyed it up until the time of her passing. Her family and friends were important to her, and she enjoyed spending time with them. Virginia is survived by her two sons: Steven (Renee) Anderson of Virginia Beach, VA, and Jeffrey Anderson of Minneapolis, MN; and 4 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her parents; and her brother, Robert.
