Vivian Larson Obituary

Vivian Irene Larson, age 94, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2021, at Prairie Lakes Hospital. She was the widow of Eldor "Lars" Larson. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 5, 2021, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel. Rev. Luke Smith will officiate. The family is requested to meet at the chapel by 1:30 p.m. The service will be Live-streamed on our Facebook page and our website. Face masks are encouraged. Visitation will be at the chapel on Thursday from 5 - 7 p.m. Burial will be at the Tabor Lutheran Cemetery in Strandburg, SD. Pallbearers will be six of her grandsons, Aaron Larson, Ryan Larson, Jason Jerombeck, Cooper Larson, Tate Uthe and Sheldon Uthe. Vivian was born on November 29, 1926, to John and Agnes (Osterkil) Evjen, in Troy, SD. After graduating from Watertown High School in 1945, Vivian acquired a Teaching Certificate and taught at the country school in Labolt, SD. On August 18, 1948, Vivian was united in marriage to Eldor "Lars" Larson, in Strandburg at Tabor Lutheran Church. Eight children were born to this union. The family lived in several communities throughout Minnesota and South Dakota. Vivian was a woman of strong faith and a caregiver to anybody and everybody, always wanting to take care of others. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the Sons of Norway and the Ladies Auxiliary. Before moving into assisted living Vivian enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. She was also known as the "Watkins Lady", she and Eldor enjoyed meeting and visiting new Watkins customers. Her favorite pastimes were family visits, bible study, leading reminisce class at Maple Place and at StoneyBrook, singing and listening to music and selling greeting cards to her friends and neighbors. Vivian is survived by her children: Deland (Joane) Larson of Monticello, MN, Noreen (Larry) Warndahl of Center City, MN, Alan Larson of Minneapolis, MN, Ken Larson of Sioux Falls, SD, Julie (Jim) Jerombeck of Grand Forks, ND, Richard (Vicki) Larson of Lakeville, MN and Sherri (Travas) Uthe of Watertown, SD; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldor; her infant daughter, Onalee; her grandson, Steven; her parents; four brothers; and four sisters.
