Fern Deloris Hall, age 88, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at a care center in Watertown. She was the widow of Robert Hall. Private family graveside services will be held with Rev. Janet Miller officiating.
Fern was born on February 24, 1929, on the family farm near Bridgewater, SD, to Benjamin and Vina (Sievers) Klunder. The family moved to Carthage, SD, and later to Canova, SD.
On October 28, 1946, Fern married Robert D. Hall, her high school sweetheart, at Canova, SD. To this union, four children were born: Marlene, Danny, Kevin and Bobby. They moved to Huron, SD, Garretson, SD, and eventually to Watertown in 1954. Fern worked various jobs in motels, cafes and at Watertown Lockers. She was employed by Minnesota Rubber for 40 years prior to her retirement.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Watertown and was also a member of the IAM Union. Fern enjoyed working with and being around people and spending time playing at the park with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing BINGO and going to the Casino. Fern loved her children and was always there when they needed a helping hand. She truly loved life and people.
Fern is survived by her children: Marlene Good, Danny Hall, Kevin Hall and Bobby (Nicole) Hall all of Watertown; her grandchildren; her great-grandchildren; her great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Marlyn (Mary) Klunder, of Virginia; one sister-in-law, MaryAnn Klunder, of Mitchell; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; one son-in-law, Charles “Charlie” Good; one daughter-in-law, Diane Hall; her parents; one brother, Wesley Klunder; and two sisters, Ardis Muller and Celia Eccles.
