Marlys was born on July 19, 1950, in Britton, SD, to Lloyd and Lillian (Stolsmark) Morehouse. She graduated from Bristol High School in 1968.
On July 5, 1975, Marlys married Keith Enstad in Pierpont, SD. The couple lived on a farm near Pierpont for nine years before moving to Watertown. Marlys worked at the Drake as a waitress, then went to work at Woolworth’s where she was the deli manager until they closed. She went on to work as a cashier at Jubilee and a waitress at Riverside before working part time at Taco John’s, which she said was her favorite job.
She was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, the American Legion Auxiliary and an active member of the Watertown Wrestling Booster Club. Marlys liked to attend the boys’ wrestling events and enjoyed reading, listening to music and camping. She loved cooking and baking and especially loved her “own” cheesecake and lefse making.
