Katherine Annette (Keintz) Weiers was born to Verlyn (Bud) and Rose (Smith) Keintz on January 12, 1965 in Colorado Springs, CO. Kathy grew up in Bryant, SD where her father owned and operated a local restaurant. Later in her life her family relocated to the Watertown, SD area where she lived for many years. Verlyn then married Debbie (Waack) Keintz who acted as a stepmother to Kathy and grandmother to her children. Kathy had four beautiful children, Lance, Travis, Chris, and Shayla, whom she loved to talk about. Kathy later journeyed to Minnesota where she eventually made her home and was united in marriage to her best friend, James Weiers, on October 9, 2004. Kathy had a zest for life and enjoyed spending time with her husband ice fishing, and being outdoors. Kathy loved spending time and reminiscing with family and friends. She had friends too numerous to name and enjoyed coining new nicknames for each and every one of them. She will be remembered for her quick wit, feisty personality, and unending devotion and love for her sisters, children, grandchildren, and granddogs.
Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband, James of Savage, Mn; her children, Lance Keintz of Watertown, SD, Travis (Meghan) Loof of Vermillion, SD, Chris (Allerie) Loof of Alexandria, SD, Shayla (Kraig) Engen of Clear Lake, SD, grandchildren Kamron Engen, and Delilah Loof, sisters Mary Keintz of Watertown, SD, Teresa (Paul) Rosenlund of Delano, MN, Vicki (Jeff) Hershman of Watertown, SD, her parents-in-law Fran and Pat Weiers of Wahkon Minnesota, her brothers-in-law Wade (Michelle) Oldenburg of Boise Idaho, John (Tamra) Weiers of Isle Mn, Reverend Joseph (Dawn) Weiers of Neillsville Wisconsin, Jake (Trish) Weiers of Flowery Branch, Georgia, her uncle Jerry (Lois) Keintz of Denver, CO, her aunt Shirley (Keintz) Plant of Cedar Lake, IN, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
